Opposites Attract: Chapter 18 COMPLETED.

It felt...good. The kiss. It was sweet.The very second their lips met, there were sparks tingling inside both of them. Even though it only lasted a few seconds, it felt longer. Slowly, they parted lips and gazed into each other's eyes. Pinkie smiled.

"Soooo, that was...fun." she giggled softly.

"Heh, um y-yeah. I-It was cool." Dan stuttered.

"Hey, you wanna meet up tomorrow at Sugarcube Corner  for dinner? Ya know, ...like a date? It'll be fun!" asked Pinkie Pie excitedly.

"Heh, sure. Sounds fine to me." Dan replied, trying his best not to grin like an idiot. (Of which he failed miserably.)

"Grrreat!" Pinkie exclaimed "Can't wait!"

Just then, Spike ran up to the two. "Hey, guys. Where ya been? You missed out on a lot of cool games!"

Dan let out an annoyed sigh. "Well, we WERE enjoying some peace and quiet away from all the other. Then YOU came along. Ugh, what do ya want?"

Spike shot him a quick glare then cleared his throat. "The reason I came here was to tell you that Twi and me are heading back to the tree home. Everypony has already went home for the night by the way, Pinkie."

"Oh they have?! Guess I better get on cleaning up the place then!"  The mare quickly  pulled out a broom out of no where and jumped off the bench.  "Bye, Spike! Tell Twilight that I'm glad that she came to the party!"

"Will do!" Spike said, giving a thumb's up. "C'mon, Dan. We better get going!"

"Yeah,yeah." the colt mumbled as he got off the bench. He then looked over at Pinkie Pie. "See ya tomorrow, Pink."

Pinkie Pie gave him a bright smile. "Alrighty! See ya then!" The she skipped off to tidy up the mess left from the party.

"Sooo," Spike said as they headed back to where Twilight was waiting for them "What did you and Pinkie do back there?"

"What- IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, FOOTBALL!" Dan  shouted angrily.

"Shhhhhhh!!! Be quiet or you'll wake everypony up! Anyway, I was just asking. Sheesh."

"Well DON'T ask again, got it?"

"Okay! Yeah, I get it! Ugh!" Spike groaned.

"Good."

The two strolled throught the darkened park, neither one saying a word. After turning around a corner, they spotted Twilight off in the distance. She ran over to the two.

"Hey, there you two are!" Twi greeted. "You both ready to go back to the tree home?"

Spike yawned and stretched his arms. "Totally! I'm ready to hit the hay!"

"Me too. Oh, and what did you and Pinkie do earlier?" Twilight asked, with a smug look on her face.

"GAH! Not this again!" Dan then dashed to the tree home, leaving  Twi and Spike behind him.

As soon as he reached the tree home, Dan ran upstairs, jumped into bed and pulled the covers over him. He grumbled for a bit, letting loose a few words that Equestrians probably wouldn't consider "nice".  Then, the sound of a door opening interrupted  his mumbling.

"Hey Twi, I'm gonna go to bed now. G'night." Spike said, tiredly.

"Good night, Spike. See you in the morning." Twi replied.

The violet unicorn went up the stairs and went over to her bed. She peeled off the blanket slowly and got in very quietly, hoping that she didn't wake up Dan who she assumed was already asleep. She then blew out the candle and cuddled up in her bed, dozing off to sleep.

Dan waited for a little while, then poked his head out of his covers. He saw that the Twilight was already asleep.  In his mind, he let out  a sigh of relief.  He sat up, put his arms behind his head and leaned back against the head of his bed.

He stared up at the ceiling, reflecting on what has happened that night. The memories caused the corners of his mouth to form a small smile. For once in a long time, Dan felt...happy.  At least that's what he thought the strange feeling was. He didn't feel like coming up with evil schemes for revenge like he usually does. All he could focus on was her.

Dan shut his eyes, his mouth still grinning.  Everything about her was just so...perfect. Oh, sure, she was a chatterbox but what did that matter? That's not even what Dan liked most about her. No, what he like most was that she was actually liking him back. All the other crushes he had NEVER  seemed remotely interested in the way he did towards them. For once in a very long while, Dan felt LOVED.

The sun had barely risen over the horizon whe Dan woke up from a good night's sleep.  He rolled out of bed to see that Twilight was still asleep. He figured that Spike was too, most likely. Dan yawned and stretched his hooves. His stomach grumbled loudly. Breakfast time. Feeling like being a nice guy, Dan decided to go make it himself instead of waking up Sparkler.

Dan quietly went downstairs where he was surprised to see a little dragon already up. "Hey, Football. I thought you'd be asleep still."

Spike shrugged. "Meh, not really that tired. I slept a lot yesterday. Why are YOU up so early?"

"Well, like you, I'm really not that tired. Don't know why though. Whatever."

"Oh, I see..." Spike said.

A moment of awkward silence  dragged on by. "Sooo...got any plans today, Football?" Dan asked slowly.

"Uh, YEAH. Remember?" Spike said as if implying something big was going to happen.

"No, not really. Sorry but I don't really care about what goes on in your life."

"Oh for the love of- We're going to Canterlot today! Sheesh!"

"What? Dude, nobody told me this!" Dan stated.

"I did! I told you last night!"

"No you DIDN'T! All you did was come up to me when I was with Pinkie and say that you and Sparkler were heading back home! Ugh!" Dan said angrily.

"Oh...oops. Um, well yeah. We're going to Canterlot today, sooo...yeah." a sheepish Spike said.

"Great! Just great! Hmph, I'll be right back!" Dan stormed towards the door.

"Hey!" Spike called out. "Where ya going?!"

"Now I gotta go cancel plans with someone because SOMEBODY forgot to mention that we we're going on a trip today!" Dan shouted as he slammed the door.

The loud noise woke up Twilight Sparkle who was coming downstairs. "What's Dan so miffed about?"

"Uh...nothing..."  mumbled an embarrassed Spike.
